Tickets & Show Policies:
- NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.
- Service/Handling charges are non-refundable.
- Events are subject to time, date, and location change.
- Not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
- Latecomers are seated at manager discretion.
- All patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age.
- A ticket is a revocable license that may be revoked at any time for any reason.
- The resale or attempted resale of a ticket at a higher price is strictly prohibited.
- THIRD PARTY TICKET VENDORS – The Paramount and State Theatres do not work with any third-party vendors. All third-party tickets are not guaranteed entry and we cannot confirm their validity prior to the time of entry.
Personal Items Policy:
NOT permitted:
- No non-clear bags larger than a clutch
- No food or beverage of any kind
- No weapons of any shape or size (including firearms, explosives, pocket knives, etc.)
- No cameras or recorders of any kind
ALLOWED but subject to inspection:
- Clear bags not exceeding 14″ x 12″ x 6″
- Small, non-clear clutch bags not exceeding 4.5” x 6.5”
- Diaper bags (when a child is present)
- Medically necessary items (including breast pumps)
- Jackets and coats
Please note: This list is in no way exhaustive, and other items may be prohibited at the discretion of management.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are a fun way to give the excitement of theatre and film to someone you care about. The Paramount and State Theatres boast more than 300 nights of entertainment each year! From music, comedy, and family theatre, to spoken word and film. Gift certificates can be purchased in amounts of $25 or more and are redeemable online for events at either theatre, plus memberships and donations.
FAQs
Parking
We are pleased to offer inexpensive covered parking at the 600 Congress parking garage, conveniently located one block from the theatres. The parking garage entrance is on 7th Street, between Congress Ave and Colorado Street. Parking vouchers may be purchased at the Paramount box office or the bars inside the theatre.
Valid 5pm–3am Mon–Fri and all day Sat–Sun.* Full parking rates apply outside of these hours. If additional payments are needed, payments are credit card only.
*Not valid during SXSW and other special events. Please call 512.474.1221 for questions on parking information.
Parking for most shows is $10 with an exit voucher purchased at our bar or Box Office before the show.
Upon entry to the garage, pull a ticket from the terminal and keep this in your car for exit. You can purchase an exit voucher for $10 from our bar or Box Office before your show.
When exiting the garage, scan your parking ticket at the terminal. When it asks for payment scan your exit voucher, or pay directly at the terminal.
Box Office
The Box Office is open 12PM to 5:30PM Monday through Friday and remains open if there is a show that evening. On weekends, the box office opens 2 hours prior to an event.
The Box Office phone line is active from 12PM to 5:30PM Monday through Friday. During non-active hours, please leave a voicemail and we will return your call as soon as possible.
The Box Office opens for show service two hours prior to weekend events. If there are no weekend events, we are completely closed.
All patrons are required to have their own tickets, including children and infants under the age of 2.
All ticket sales are final; no refunds or exchanges.

General
No, we do not permit outside food and drink when you enter our theatres. This includes personal water bottles.
Please call our Box Office at 512-474-1221, and we’d be happy to secure your seats and accommodate your needs.
Our seats range from 19”-22” depending on the seat. Most seats are 19” from the middle of the arm rest to the middle of arm rest.
Opera Box access is reserved for our Director level membership and above, and granted as availability allows.
The Paramount
Accessible restrooms are located in the inner lobby on the right and left sides of the building. Additional restrooms are located on the mezzanine level near the exit stairwells
The State
An accessible restroom is located in the first floor lobby, behind the staircase to the left. Additional restrooms are located on the second floor lobby.
Prior to the event, you can obtain an estimated end time from our Box Office by calling 512-474-1221. At the event, you can also ask an Usher or House Manager in the lobby.
Please check with a House Manager in the lobby to have your ticket scanned again to allow for re-entry.
The Paramount Theatre does not have an elevator.
The Paramount
From vaudeville house to movie palace to multifaceted performing arts venue, the Paramount has been the jewel of downtown Austin for over a century.
The State
In 1935, the State Theatre became the first theatre in Austin specifically designed to screen movies. It was a conversion of an existing building to the plans of architect W. Scott Dunne, and the fourth of the Interstate Circuit’s Austin Theatres (along with the Paramount Theatre, Queen Theatre and Capitol Theatre).
